This month’s theme was Outdoor Scenes and/or Patterned Paper. When I think of the outdoors, I immediately think of the beach. As a native San Diegan, I absolutely love the sights, sounds and smells of the beach. The ocean water has such a calming effect on me and I love it.
I decided to make this card using the “Summer Dreams” patterned paper by Echo Park. I began by cutting my panel using the largest scallop rectangle die from Pink & Main. I then used a scallop circle die by Sizzix to cut out a window on the panel. I backed the panel with some clear acetate I had in my stash. I’m sure by now, you can figure out by now that I am going to make a shaker card 😉
I added foam tape to the back of the card and filled it with some Doodlebug sequins from my stash. I have so much sequins that I need to use, which is what gave me the idea to make a shaker card. I then backed the panel with some light blue glitter card stock I had in my stash. I went on to layer the panel on some yellow card stock (from my stash as well). I used Darcie’s “Stay Cool” stamp set and colored the image using Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I stamped the sentiment on some of the left over yellow card stock and attached it to the lower right hand corner of the card. This card turned out to be sunny and bright, just how I need to feel during these unusual times. Thank you to all the creators who continue to inspire me to be a better version of myself!
