A Reason to Smile

It can be difficult to find a reason to smile during these strange times so I thought I would make a card or two to send to some friends in hopes of making them smile. Most of the people I know are still working from home and this can feel very isolating. Sometimes we forget how important human interaction can be so I am sending some cards out to my colleagues to keep in touch even though we only “see” each other during virtual meetings.

For my video this week I decided to make a black and white themed card using items from my stash. , I began by getting one of the many embossing folders from my stash. I used Darice’s “Sheet Music” embossing folder and my new toy…the Gemini Junior to emboss the white cardstock. I then used Doodlebug’s “Hats Off” patterned paper to layer the embossed panel. In order to add some contrast the the panel, I added some black ribbon from my stash and a strip of the left over patterned paper. I chose Simon Says Stamp’s “Choose Happy” stamp set for my sentiment and added it to the card using some foam tape. I felt the need to add a bit of bling so I pulled out some black star embellishments from my stash and sprinkled them on the card. Now that my panel was complete, I adhered the panel to the card base using Art Glitter Glue. I’m sure these cards will give the recipients a Reason to Smile!

I am the mother of four, grandmother of ten and wife to my wonderful husband of almost 40 years. I am finally retired and have chosen to focus my extra time on papercrafting. I am fortunate to be a part of several design teams and love working with each of them. I am fortunate to have a very supportive family and am sure they will continue to support me during this endeavor. Thank you for joining me on this new and exciting venture.
