Show Us Your Sheetload – January 2021

Hello to my fellow creators! I have decided to follow along with Alica of Call me Crafty Al each month and do a video/blog post using her monthly Sheetload sketches. This month’s sketch I used to make some masculine birthday cards since I am always on short supply for masculine cards. I pulled in some paper from a Michael’s hot buy paper pad (Marsh Flowers) I had in my stash. Even though some of the paper has flowers, I think the color scheme helped to pull the cards together for the addition of masculine cards. I used some navy card stock (from Michael’s as well) for the layers and a sheet of card stock from a Neutrals hot buy paper pad for the sentiments. Once I had my papers selected, I went ahead and cut and sorted all the paper. This month, Alicia also had some free downloadable sentiment sheets, which I also used for the cards. I have an inkjet printer and found that the ink did not dry quickly on the card stock I used so I decided to heat emboss the sentiments using some Simon Says Stamp Steel Navy embossing powder. The color of the embossed sentiments tied in perfectly with the color scheme of the cards. I thought about adding some embellishments, but in the end, I liked the way the cards looked without them. I plan to go back to some of the previous Sheetload sketches and make more masculine cards to add to my stash.

Alicia’s monthly sketches are available for download to her subscribers so go over to her channel (https://www.youtube.com/callmecraftyal) and subscribe for some creative fun. #suysjan2021 #showusyoursheetload
