I am continuing to use supplies from my stash. This week, I pulled out some stencils that I purchased from Amazon that were still in their original packages, just waiting to be used. I used some Canson Watercolor paper and did some ink blending using Distress Oxide inks from my stash (Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick). After I did my ink blending, I sprayed some water on the stencil and laid it on the ink blended panel. I pressed the stencil onto the paper with a cloth and then removed the stencil and picked up any excess water with the dry cloth. This left a nice watermark effect on the panel. From there, I decided to add some water droplets using some Perfect Pearls mixed with water. I also added some white splatter using Simon Says Stamp White Pigment ink. Now to add something to this panel to make a card. I cut out a heart from some black Recollections card stock using a Simon Says Stamp nesting heart die. I then heat embossed a sentiment using SSS embossing ink and Recollections Snow embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Love Always stamp set. I then adhered the die cut heart to my card panel using some foam tape from the Dollar Tree. I then pulled in a preprinted sentiment by Simon Says Stamp and added it to the card panel as well. I mounted the panel onto a black mat and then added it to my pre-cut and pre-folded card base. I made two versions of the same card; one with sequins and one without. Which one do you like better? I really enjoyed the watermark effect that I got by using a stencil. I think I may do more like this, with different stencils, since I have over 100 in my stash.
