This month’s theme was Summer/Vacation and/or Embossing Folders. Summer is my favorite time of year. I enjoy the longer days since it allows me more time to craft. I had fun making this card as I daydreamed about our next vacation. We have not gone on vacation this year due to “you know what” so my vacationing has only been in my dreams. We had planned on going on another cruise, but that will have to wait for a couple of years for now. I can’t complain too much though, as I live in a vacation destination year round…sunny San Diego, California.
I began by pulling out some textured blue cardstock from my stash and die cut it using the largest “Stitched Rectangle” die by Simon Says Stamp. I then dry embossed the die cut panel using the “Clouds Background” embossing folder by Darice. I decided to add some white ink to the clouds with my blending brush and Simon Says Stamp’s white pigment ink. I then pulled out some Doodlebug scraps and cut the bikini using the “Bikini Wafer” die by Simon Says Stamp. I looked for yellow polka dot paper but only found multi-colored polka dot paper scraps so the song in my head was now…”She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny multi-colored polka dot bikini.”
Now that I got that out of my system…I stamped some seagulls on the panel using the “See You Soon” stamp set, also by Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the sentiment on some yellow Doodlebug paper (I had to get some yellow on the card somehow) using the same stamp set and Versafine Claire black ink.
I used my AGT tape to attach the yellow sentiment strip and my Art Glitter Glue to attach the bikini.
I added some Doodlebug heart stickers to the panel and then attached the panel to a top folding card base. This card made me smile and I know just who I will be sending it to next week. Thank you to all the creators who continue to inspire me to be a better version of myself!
