This month’s theme was Christmas and/or Texture Paste/Mousse. I had fun using more goodies from my stash for this one. I will add these three cards to my annual donation of Christmas Cards.
For the first card, I began by ink blending on some white card stock using Distress Oxide Inks (Stormy Sky, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord). Once I was happy with the ink blending, I sprinkled some water droplets on the panel and dabbed the excess water off. I pulled out the “Snowflakes” stencil by Simon Says Stamp and used Nuvo Embellishment Mouse in Gunmetal Gray. I felt like the mousse needed some sparkle so I added some Arteza Brillant Silver Glitter on the wet mousse. I set the panel aside to dry. While it was drying, I heat embossed my sentiment on some velum using VersaFine Claire Nocturne Ink and Recollections Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment I used was from the “Good Cheer” stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and CZ Design. I cut down the velum and wrapped it around the panel. I then matted the panel with some silver Recollections paper and added it to my card base using Art Glitter Glue.
For the second card I used “Holiday Tree Medallion” stencil set by Simon Says Stamp. I taped it to some Recollections black card stock and then applied some Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Amethyst Purple to the card panel. I set this aside to dry for a while and then matted it with some gray shimmer card stock by CraftSmart using foam tape by Simon Says Stamp. I then added a sentiment from my stash using more foam tape. I then added the panel to my card base.
For the third and final card I used some green card stock I had in my stash. I used Tim Holtz “Woodland” stencil and Gina K. Inks (Dark Sage & Christmas Pine) to shade the trees in a darker green. I then added some Stickles Glitter Gel (Nebula) over the ink blended trees. I pulled in a pre-printed sentiment by Simon Says Stamp and matted the sentiment strip with some Recollections gold card stock. I added the sentiment to the panel using some foam tape. I then matted the panel with some more of the gold card stock and some red card stock as well. I added this to my card base and with that…my three cards are done.
