I’m still working on my annual Christmas Card donation of 300 cards. I have a few more to go so I thought I would make a few using just one background stamp and different coloring techniques/mediums.
I made these five cards using the “Gift Box” background stamp by Simon Says Stamp. For the first card I stamped the image using Ranger Distress Oxide in Candied Apple. I stamped and embossed the sentiment on some red card stock using the “Good Cheer” stamp set by CZ Design & Simon Says Stamp. I used some foam tape to pop up the sentiment on the panel and then attached the panel to some red cardstock. Card #1 is done.
For the second card, I stamped and embossed the image on some Canson watercolor paper using Versafine Claire Nocturne ink and Recollections clear embossing powder. I chose to color in this image using some pink and purple Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor markers (English Lavender, Lilac, Light Violet, Purple, Violet, Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Pink, and Dark Pink). I then layered the panel on some black cardstock and added a s sentiment strip by Simon Says Stamp. Card #2 is done.
For the third card, I stamped and embossed the image on some white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Ink and Gina K. Designs Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder. It was at this point that I decided to check the mail and much to my surprise, my order of Gina K. inks had arrived. Well…the excitement was too much to contain so I shared my opening of the full set of inks!
I chose to use three of my new Gina K inks to do some ink blending on this panel (Tranquil Teal, Blue Lagoon and Ocean Mist). Oh my, I had so much fun using my new inks. Now I just need to do my ink swatches and add them to my inventory using AirTable. That is a job to be done on the weekend. I layered the ink blended panel on some silver card stock by Recollections and added another pre-printed sentiment by Simon Says Stamp. Card #3 is done.
The video was getting to be a bit long, so I finished the last two cards off camera. I kept these two very simple. I stamped and embossed the image on black cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Ink and Gina K. Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder on one and Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine Antique Gold Embossing Powder on the other. I added a pre-printed sentiment by CZ Design on the gold card and layered it on some gold cardstock by Recollections. For the silver embossed card, I added an embossed sentiment and layered the panel on silver cardstock by Recollections. Cards #4 and #5 are done. I am going to make a few more of these to add to my Christmas Card Donation. Thank you for supporting me and helping me grow as I practice being creative!
