Making Christmas Tags

I realized that we are almost in November and I don’t have enough Christmas tags for my family’s gifts. Every year, I help Santa Clause with wrapping and tagging all the gifts for my ever growing family. I usually spend my birthday (two days before Christmas) doing all the wrapping. I love doing this and it brings me such joy. I think of each of my children and grandchildren as I make the tags to go with each of their gifts.

I made these tags using several different papers and mediums. I used white card stock, glossy paper, and watercolor paper. I started by using a few of the Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks (put colors here) and some glossy paper I bought at Dollar Tree. This paper works just fine, although, Yupo paper is definitely higher quality. Once I was happy with the colors on the tags, I set them aside to dry.

For the second and third tags, I pulled out my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens (Aquamarine, Pink Garnet & Amethyst) to do the watercoloring and add sparkle at the same time. I used the Simon Says Stamp “Christmas Cheer” stamp set to stamp and emboss some snowflakes on one of the tags and then watercolored them. I then just brushed on some of the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen color to the next tag and set these two tags aside to dry.

For the next card, I did some ink blending using a stencil from Dollar Tree and Gina K (Cherry Red) Ink on white card stock. I think this tag may be my favorite since it was quick and easy and looks so pretty. For my last card I added ink blending using Gina K (Powder Blue & Lovely Lavender) Inks. Once all my tags were dry, I brought in the “Good Cheer” stamp set by CZ Design and “Sassy Christmas” stamp set by Scrapbook.com for the wonderful sentiments I added to the tags. And last but not least, I added twine from my stash to each of the tags. Making these seven tags took me less than an hour! I need at least another 40 tags so I have to get busy!

Thank you for supporting me and helping me grow as I continue my creative (and fun) journey.
